About

A Place to Feel Understood.

Life can become overwhelming and heavy when you're carrying the demands of parenting, work, caring for others, relationship challenges, trauma, and everything else life asks of you. It's easy to lose sight of yourself or even wonder, "Who am I anymore?" Over two decades working in mental health and education have shown me how deeply these experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and our lives. Many of the adults I work with have spent years showing up for everyone else while quietly setting their own needs aside. Therapy with me is a place to slow down, work through current challenges, and better understand the past experiences and patterns that have shaped you. We will make sense of those patterns together and explore new ways of responding to yourself, your relationships, and life's challenges while developing practical strategies you can apply to everyday life. I'm trained in Brainspotting (Phases 1 & 2), a brain- and body-based approach that can support deeper processing beyond words alone. I also integrate attachment-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to your unique needs, goals, and comfort level. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll work together to find what feels most helpful for you. You can learn more about the approaches I use below. Trying to find a therapist who "gets you" can be overwhelming. You deserve to find someone who feels like the right fit. I'm happy to answer your questions during a free 15-minute consultation! Frequently Asked Questions Do you accept insurance? I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for reimbursement. I also offer Thrizer, a service that may allow eligible clients to use their out-of-network benefits without waiting for reimbursement. FSA and HSA payments are also accepted. Do you offer in-person therapy? No. I provide secure telehealth therapy for adults throughout Virginia. Do you work with teens? My practice primarily serves adults. I also work with older teens (age 16-17) who are seeking an adult-focused therapy experience. My background working with children, adolescents, families in the school system, higher education, and outpatient counseling has given me a deep appreciation for the unique issues and transitions that occur during this stage of life. Do you offer a consultation? Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can discuss your needs, answer questions, and determine whether we're a good fit. What can I expect during the first session? Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and begin identifying your goals. We'll work together to develop a plan that feels right for you. What if I'm not sure therapy is the right fit? That's completely okay. Finding the right therapist is important. The consultation is a chance to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and decide whether working together feels like a good fit. There is no obligation to schedule.
